Already 13 People Arrested Related Fires in Israel

Israeli police detained a man suspected of being the mastermind behind the fires that hit several areas in Israel. Up to now 13 people were arrested on suspicion of accidentally triggering forest fires in the region.

Reported by Reuters on Saturday (26/11/2016), Security Minister Gilad Erdan said the total already 13 people were arrested. Until this news was revealed, not known the identity of the person arrested. While the fire continues to spread to the West Bank and Jerusalem.


"Those arrested are minorities, the motive may be a sense of nationalism," said Erdan.Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the forest fires that continue to plague the area around Jerusalem and along Israel's northern part.


Israeli police spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, said that earlier 12 people had been detained by the police. They were both arrested while trying to spark new fires or while fleeing from the scene. But Rosenfeld did not explain further about those arrested.


In a previous statement, Netanyahu called the perpetrators responsible for these fires as terrorists. He said he would crack down on rogue bear is behind the tragedy.
